Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Officer VAT to join our dynamic team. A VAT officer ensures a company’s compliance with tax laws by accurately calculating and filing Value-Added Tax returns, maintaining proper records, and assisting with audits. Key duties include preparing VAT forms like Mushak forms, liaising with tax authorities, staying updated on tax legislation changes, and advising teams on VAT-related processes. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of tax and VAT acts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Master’s Business Administration (MBA) or any equivalent discipline.
- Professional certifications in VAT, VAT management will be considered a plus.
- Skilled in MS Office and capable of operating standard accounting/VAT-related software.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, VAT, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- A disciplined, organized, and self-motivated individual with problem-solving abilities.
Experience:
Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of proven experience, with responsibilities like preparing monthly VAT returns, managing reconciliations, communicating with authorities, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. Experience with specific skills such as VAT software, advanced Excel, and strong analytical abilities is crucial. Educational requirements typically include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
VAT Officer Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and submit all necessary VAT returns and statements to the relevant authorities, such as the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
- Ensure the company complies with all VAT laws and regulations. This includes assisting with and managing VAT audits and inspections conducted by tax authorities.
- Maintain organized and complete records of all VAT-related documents, registers, and transactions to facilitate audits and ensure proper compliance
- Provide guidance and advice to the company on the VAT implications of business decisions, contracts, and cross-border transactions
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize VAT liabilities while ensuring full compliance.
- Reconcile VAT accounts and transactions to ensure financial reporting is accurate.
- Prepare VAT challans and ensure timely payments.
